Join the Junior Committee!
Applications Due April 25
Applications are now being accepted for the 2025 Washington International Horse Show Junior Committee & Youth Ambassador Program sponsored by Signature Academics One-To-One School. This innovative program is an opportunity for local teens to be a part of the inner workings of one of the most prestigious and competitive equestrian events in North America. The 67th Annual WIHS will take place October 20-26, 2025, at The Show Place Arena in Upper Marlboro, MD.
Through an application process, WIHS management will select 30 teens from public, charter and private schools in Maryland, Virginia, and Washington, DC, to join the Junior Committee. Three of the 30 will be named Youth Ambassadors. Youth Ambassadors will lead one of three subcommittees and work closely with WIHS staff to help run the show.
The deadline for submitting applications is April 25, 2025. Applicants are encouraged to carefully read and complete the application in full to ensure all required areas are complete. Please note all mandatory dates and meetings.

During WIHS’ two show weeks, which includes both WIHS and the WIHS Regional Horse Show, Junior Committee members serve as show ambassadors, helping as needed around the grounds, in the office, with exhibitor hospitality, and more. Junior Committee members also are involved in equine-related volunteer activities and help oversee WIHS social media channels and special events.
The WIHS Youth Ambassador holds a leadership role as chair of the Junior Committee and represents the show’s youth perspective to the WIHS team. Those wishing to be considered for the position as 2025 WIHS Youth Ambassador will complete an additional application to showcase strengths in leadership and management. The Youth Ambassador will have the opportunity to work closely with the WIHS team and help guide the Junior Committee throughout the year.
The deadline to submit applications is April 25, 2025. Applicants must be students between the ages of 14 and 18 enrolled at local Washington, DC, Maryland and Virginia schools.
