Spring Spotlight: $10,000 3’ Adult Equitation Challenge

Adult equitation riders rarely compete for a purse at this level.

During Spring III of the Traverse City Spring Series, amateurs will contest the $10,000 3’ TCHS Adult Equitation Challenge, designed to reward complete horsemanship at 3’.

Class Format

Riders will jump a course of at least 10 fences set at 3’, including:

  • A combination
  • Two changes of lead after the first fence
  • Technical questions such as a bending line, narrow jump, rollback, or long approach

The first round is judged using open numerical scoring. The top 12 return for a flat phase, counting 50 percent of the final score. This format rewards accuracy, consistency, and polish.

Why It Matters

A $10,000 purse at 3’ brings meaningful stakes to adult equitation. It’s part of a 13-week summer season structured to offer depth and progression across divisions.

The Spring Prize List is now available. Entries are open on Equestrian Digital, and stall reservations are underway. Plan your week. Submit your entry. Secure your stalls early.
