A Spring Built for Hunter Riders in Traverse City

The Traverse City Spring Series, presented by Turtle Creek Casino & Hotel, is an early-season destination for hunter riders looking to compete, qualify, and build momentum heading into summer.

Running June 3–28, the four-week series offers depth across divisions, meaningful prize money, and championship-caliber opportunities:

  • Spring I & Spring III — $10,000 USHJA National Hunter Derbies for Open & Junior/Amateurs, with this derby schedule continuing weekly throughout the Great Lakes Equestrian Festival (GLEF)
  • Spring II — $32,000 USHJA Green Hunter Incentive Regional Championship and $25,000 USHJA International Hunter Derby Regional Championships

The Spring Series concludes with Spring IV, featuring a $10,000 Adult Equitation Challenge alongside CSI4* competition in the jumper ring to close the month in Traverse City.

While the focus here is Spring, hunter opportunities continue through GLEF and into the Tournament of Champions, including weekly $10,000 USHJA National Hunter Derbies, WCHR Week, and championship-caliber finals later in the season.

With the spring prize list coming soon and stabling already underway, planning is happening now. For riders deciding where to start—and where to stay—Traverse City offers a rare mix of competitive opportunity and a summer setting designed for longer stays.

Your summer starts here. Reserve your stalls early.
